Precise Indoor Positioning and Timing for Femtocells
In order to meet critical interoperability, regulatory, and E911 location requirements, 3G and 4G femtocells must incorporate precise timing, positioning, and frequency capabilities. The pressure to reduce costs and simplify deployment to support broad consumer adoption has made technologies like GPS an attractive solution. Yet, GPS alone is insufficient to support femtocell positioning and timing since it does not work reliably indoors.
SCP based positioning and timing processes multiple RF signals anywhere between 300 MHz and 2.5GHz. This maximizes the opportunity to acquire three or more signals necessary to achieve reliable, accurate positioning.
