ContactDemonstration of MEP Positioning
The following animations show the result of navigating a mall using the MEP technologies. Using a Galaxy Tab 10.1 together with the Loctronix MEP 2200 development board, we were able to track an individual as they walked through the Factoria Mall complex (Factoria, Washington) during a period of high pedestrian traffic. In this particular demonstration, a single 2G cellular radio signal fused with the Galaxy Tab MEMs sensors and electronic compass to deliver realtime positioning data achieving sub-meter accuracy most of the time.
The first panel shows the demonstration with Map Assist functions enabled.
The second panel shows a comparison of MEP with and without the Map Assist functionality enabled. As the results show, the core DAIN functionality provided very-high resolution and accuracy requiring very little correction by the map-assist functions.
