Network Assisted Positioning and Timing
For even higher performance and reliability, SCP technology supports real-time network assisted operations. For demanding enterprise and potentially E911 applications, SCP sensors can be configured to operate with a location server and monitoring stations, which centralizes almanac management and processing functions. This can have the beneficial effect of alleviating processing load on the sensor reducing power consumption and processing time. Architecturally, it is similar to assisted GPS solutions, but has the added benefit of working indoors and delivering very-high accuracy.
Network assist improves performance providing real-time corrections for systematic and environmental errors, delivering meter-level (1 to 3 meters) positioning experience. For enterprise and regional carrier operated networks, deployment of infrastructure elements will further enhance positioning performance both indoors and outdoors.
Any wireless device equipped with autonomous SCP sensor technology can take advantage of network assisted capabilities. All that is required is a simple software upgrade.
